Fabian Storer (In person)

Fabian is a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). He holds dual degrees in Psychology/Psychophysiology (Swinburne University) and Psychotherapy/Counselling (Ikon Institute).

Fabian started Warrnambool Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2022 with the purpose of offering high-quality therapy in a regional context. He grew up in Warrnambool and Koroit, working on South West farms during his teenage and young adult years. He understands the joys and struggles of living rurally.

After leaving the South West for some years travelling and studying, Fabian has returned home to raise a family and dedicate himself to his career. He has a passion for understanding the minds of others and helping people change in ways they desire. He likes working with a broad range of client populations, and has particular interests in depression, trauma and grief. He is also interested in humanistic-existential psychology, psychodynamic psychotherapy, meditation, the intersection of Eastern practices with Western psychology, as well as philosophy and the arts.

Outside of therapy, he enjoys playing music, martial arts, reading, meditation and above all else being a father and a husband.

Joshua Comyn (Online)

Joshua offers a holistic approach to psychological healing that draws theories and techniques from several models of psychotherapy to tailor the treatment to the unique needs of patients rather than forcing patients to fit into a pre-existing treatment protocol. Patients shouldn’t have to adapt themselves to a particular form of psychotherapy. Instead, psychotherapy ought to adapt itself to the unique features of individual minds!

Joshua is open to working with people regardless of who they are or where they come from. He has experience treating a range of psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and personality disorders. He also works with couples experiencing challenges in their relationships and helps them to find happier and healthier ways of building a life together.

In addition to being a practitioner of psychotherapy in private practice, Joshua has also worked as a lecturer in counselling and psychotherapy where he has taught and trained students to become psychotherapists and counsellors. Prior to studying and working in psychotherapy, Joshua's background was in literature, philosophy and theatre and he has worked as an academic at several universities in Australia. This experience gives him a broad view of how the mind works and influences how he understands the theory and practice of psychotherapy. Literature provides a window into other minds, and philosophy is a powerful way to organise one’s own mind. Theatre has taught him how to connect with others and himself and how to make the body a vehicle for the mind’s expression.
